Affiliate Disclosure

What an affiliate link is
When I recommend a tool — say, a project management platform or a hosting service — I may include a special link that carries my referral ID. If you sign up through that link, the vendor pays me a percentage of what you pay, or a fixed amount per signup. The vendor includes that cost in their normal pricing: you pay exactly the same as if you had gone to their website directly.
What a commission does and doesn't do
Does
Partially fund the site, so I can keep publishing free, in-depth guides without ad networks, pop-ups, or sponsored content blocks.
Doesn't
Rank any product higher. Every recommendation in every article was made before the link was attached, and several of the strongest recommendations in these guides (e.g., "just keep using the existing system," or a tool I have no program for) earn me exactly zero. If a product is the right choice, it gets recommended — with or without a link.
How recommendations are made
The process is the same one I have used for thirty years of client work: understand the actual situation, list the realistic options, compare them on cost, effort, risk, and fit, and then say plainly which one I would choose — and what would change my mind. Affiliate programs are a payment mechanism. They are not an input to the decision.
Which programs I participate in
As of publication, this site links to affiliate programs operated by:
- Notion — via Impact (commission on the first twelve months of a referred subscription)
- HubSpot — via Impact (commission on the first year of a referred paid subscription)
- Cloudways — in-house program (commission per referred signup)
This list is updated when programs are added or removed. Past participants may have included other SaaS and hosting programs; the principle above applies to all of them, present and past.
Other things I want to be transparent about
- AI assistance: article drafts are produced with AI assistance and then checked line by line by the engineer behind the site. The final responsibility for accuracy is mine, not the model's.
- No sponsored posts: I have never accepted money to write or to favor a product. If that changes, it will be stated on this page first.
- No paid reviews or rankings: I do not accept payment for positions in any comparison table. If a table has no affiliate links at all, that's because the honest answer is a product I don't earn on — or a decision to not buy anything.
